What are you doing here?
I began by choosing are 3 main clips, I had to do a different atmosphere for each one. The first clip was filmed by Kellie and we chose to do an action clip where Bekky was a spy and i came up behind and made her jump, she then says 'What are you doing here?'. I decided to use a Long shot to show Bekky running to the corner and looking round waiting for someone to come round. I decided that when she was pearing round the corner that we used a low angle shot to show her body language. This gives the audience the chance to interpret what they think might happen next. It then quickly panned round to where i was coming up behind her. For me i don't think this was very effective because later on in the third clip we also used the same technique where we had Kellie standing behind me. The last shot was a two-shot where me and Bekky were talking.
The second clip was more happy we had two friends meeting one another again after it being such a long time. I was filming this clip so i used a high angle shot from the top of the stairs and did a pan shot of Bekky running towards Kellie realising that they haven't seen each other for a while. It then goes to a slight close up of both of them hugging and saying 'What are you doing here?' ' i haven't seen you in a while'. The audience immediatley get into the clip because they can tell that it is going to be a happy clip of two friends. However i also don't think this is very effective because not enough camera angles are used so it looks plain.
The Last clip has the atmosphere of a horror and involves some camera shots to make the cliches stand out. I started by choosing a position for the camera and what angle would be apropriate for the clip. The clip was filmed by Bekky Kirkup and is a bathroom scene where i enter through the door and wash my face in the sink, when i next look up Kellie is behind me(classic cliche from a horror). I decided that the best camera angle to use when i enter through the door was a pan shot to show me opening the door and moving towards the sink, in this pan shot you also get a glimpse of Kellie, this gives the audience a sense of danger and that they are aware that something may happen, this shot can also be known as a two-shot. When i was leaning over the sink we used a close- up to show that i wasn't paying attention to my surroundings. I then stood upright and looked in the mirror the camera followed my movement to reveal Kellie standing behind and the the line 'What are you doing here?' was used. We used the movement of the camera to demonstrate to the audience that someone was going to happen.
I think that the last clip was the best one because it used a variety of camera angles and although it was very cliche it made it interesting and the audience will be more intrigued to watch, this is because it shows a classic horror scene and it was prepared and well thought out. For me the second clip was the worst because it was rushed and we couldn't use that many camera angles.
